Duratec Bellhousings

RWD Motorsport are proud to announce that we are preferred suppliers of Duratec Engine to Ford Gearbox Cable Clutch Bellhousings to Brisca F2 for the 2010 season.

Brisca F2 Duratec Engine BellhousingThe Brisca F2 Technical Regulations 2009 detail the use of the MI4 1.8 Litre Duratec engine which will be "acceptable for general use in 2010" (pages 49 - 52 inclusive of the Technical Regulations).

Our bellhousing allows the MI4 1.8 Litre Duratec engine to be connected to the Ford Type E (Rocket 4 sp) and Type 9 (Sierra 5 sp) gearboxes using the standard Ford cable clutch and associated components. The quick release option allows quicker gearbox removal and fitting by moving the 4 internal gearbox to bellhousing bolts to the outside of the gearbox. This allows the gearbox to be removed whilst leaving the bellhousing in place, making a difficult job much easier.

Duratec Flywheels

We are also preferred suppliers of the Ford Duratec 81/2 Lightweight Steel Flywheel which conforms exactly to the regulations as specified on page 52 paragraph 12 (see excerpt below).

Flywheel & Clutch: The standard dual mass flywheel may be replaced with a one piece item made of iron or steel. Integral ring gears are allowed but all ring gears must be of the standard 1.8 Duratec diameter. Excluding the ring gear, the flywheel may not be thicker than 15mm or thinner than 8.5mm at any point. Heavy duty flywheel mounting bolts are allowed. Only the standard 2.0L OHC Pinto clutch type may be used. Minimum total weight for the Flywheel, clutch cover, driven plate and all mounting bolts is 10.14 Kg.

Our flywheel has an integral starter ring where the ring gear is machined direclty into the flywheel, preventing any unecessary and costly separation of the flywheel and ring gear whilst competing. The flywheel is machined to accept the standard 2.0L OHC Pinto clutch cover and driven plate.
