This bellhousing allows the 1.8l, 2.0l or 2.3l Duratec engine to be connected to the Ford Type E (Rocket 4 sp) and Type 9 (Sierra 5 sp) gearboxes using a hydraulic clutch.

Comes complete with Adaptor Plate to take AF15B Hydraulic Release Bearing (not included).

Not compatible with standard flywheel. Needs Ford Duratec lightweight Steel Flywheel – 8 1/2″ *** or Ford Duratec lightweight Steel Flywheel – 7 1/4″ Race Clutch Plate.

Please note that if you are using this kit with the Heavy Duty Pinto Clutch Cover and Organic Clutch Plate since this clutch is 10mm less in height you will need to order 2 x Hydraulic Release Bearing Kit Additional 5mm Shims. Please read the Fitting Instructions for more information and before final build.

You may also need the spigot bearing that fits directly in the end of the crankshaft.

Options
** The quick release option allows quicker gearbox removal and fitting by moving the 4 internal gearbox to bellhousing bolts to the outside of the gearbox. This allows the gearbox to be removed whilst leaving the bellhousing in place, making a difficult job much easier.

If you do not specify the quick release option you will need 4 of 12mm x 1 1/2mm pitch cap head screws, which are fitted from the front of the gearbox .

Supplied with a recess machined in the gearbox end of the bellhousing to accommodate the layshaft boss found on some heavy duty Type 9 gearboxes. Fitted with layshaft retaining cap screw in cases where this recess is not needed.

Requires that the original tube where the thrust bearing slid needs cutting off leaving only the part that houses the oil seal.

I have been looking around for some time now wanting to convert my Caterham to a Duratec. Most of the solutions that I have seen need a separate kit for the hydraulic clutch. This bellhousing has the release mounting plate inside the gearbox so all you need to buy extra is the slave cylinder which is also available on this website. Great product.
