VW / Audi 1.8 Litre to Ford Type 9 Competition Bellhousing Kit
This bellhousing kit will mate the Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT or Skoda 1.8 litre 20 valve turbocharged engines to the Ford Type 9 (Ford Sierra) gearbox.
The kit includes the VW / Audi to Ford Type 9 bellhousing, RWD Motorsport lightweight steel flywheel, Mondeo slave cylinder, Sachs racing clutch pressure plate, solid paddle clutch plate, bellhousing bolts, gearbox bolts and slave cylinder mounting bolts.
The standard Mondeo slave cylinder, connects via an included adaptor directly to the bellhousing rear inner face. The nose of the Ford Type 9 will need to be cut down to allow the slave cylinder to slide over but this will not affect the integral oil seal.
The clutch will handle 425 ft lb or 576 Nm of torque.
* Requires a spigot bearing from the longitudinal Audi A4 engine.
** Starter required is the Audi A4 1.8 turbo variant
*** The bottom bellhousing holes are spaced to fit the inline A4 sump. If using a transverse sump or other engine variants, the sump holes will not align. In a RWD application this is not a structural issue as the engine is supported at the midpoint and the engine / gearbox assembly is not subjected to the same forces.
