The 20 valve turbo from the VAG Group produces up to 236bhp in standard form (Audi TT Quattro Sport) and so is an ideal choice for a fast rear wheel drive conversion with little engine modification required. With our purpose made bellhousing you can now fit this ubiquitous engine to the robust Borg Warner T5 gearbox.

The hydraulic actuation is achieved using the Slave Cylinder for VW / Audi to Ford Type 9 or Borg, which connects via an adaptor (included) directly to the bellhousing rear inner face. The nose of the T5 will need to be cut down to allow the slave cylinder to slide over but this will not affect the integral oil seal.

• If not using our clutch kit please use the VALEO Part # 826704 friction disc for the Sierra Cosworth T5 box. This has the correct 1″ 23 spline setup. You may need to retain your standard cover depending on the engine

* Requires a spigot bearing from the longitudinal Audi A4 engine or our spigot bearing.
** Starter required is the Audi A4 1.8 turbo variant
*** The bottom bellhousing holes are spaced to fit the inline A4 sump. If using a transverse sump or other engine variants, the sump holes will not align. In a RWD application this is not a structural issue as the engine is supported at the midpoint and the engine / gearbox assembly is not subjected to the same forces.

Specification and Application

**** Please note that these engines share the same bellhousing pattern however we have only tested on the 1.8 litre 20 valve and 1.9 litre TDI engines.
***** Fits Sierrra Cosworth T5. The TVR gearbox flange is 4mm smaller in diameter and so will need spacing out. Mustang T5 has a different spline input shaft.
If using a USA or Australian T5 gearbox you may need our 10 spline 1 1/16″ clutch friction plate.
